The Pennsylvania State Police said yesterday that Trooper Ed Joyner's outside work exceeded the scope of what was permitted. They say ``he is alleged to have demeaned the image'' of the state police.
A friend of Roethlisberger's accuser told Georgia authorities that a ``bodyguard'' refused to acknowledge that the woman was alone with the quarterback in a nightclub March 5. Georgia authorities later identified the man as Joyner.
Roethlisberger was not criminally charged. But the NFL said yesterday that he would be suspended for six games.
