No one wants to spend Christmas – or any day for that matter – taking a child to the emergency room; but toy-related injuries sent more than a quarter of a million children to the ER last year alone. Before buying gifts for the youngsters on your list this season, be sure to check out the Public Interest Research Group’s annual “Trouble in Toyland” report. PIRG not only looks at toys that pose potential safety hazards; but the consumer watchdog group also offers some gift-giving guidelines.
