Vandals Crash Excavator Into Gas Station

DUNBAR TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Pennsylvania State Police are looking for vandals who stole an excavator and took it on a joyride Monday morning.

According to police, the incident is part of a much larger crime spree going on in Dunbar Township.

It started early Monday morning, when the excavator was stolen from a construction site.

The suspects apparently drove the construction vehicle a few hundred feet up the berm of Route 119 before crashing it into the Sunoco gas station.

The damage was extensive and the building could be a total loss.

Police were called to the scene after being notified by the alarm company.

Police also responded to numerous reports of broken car windows in Bullskin Township and also one in Dunbar Township.

An ATV was stolen from a private residence and a truck was stolen from a nearby used car lot.

According to police, at this point they don't have any surveillance video or known witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police in Uniontown.
