New Concert Venue Set To Open On North Shore

NORTH SHORE (KDKA) -- The doors to the new Stage AE open on the North Shore this Friday and Pittsburgh audiences will see something they've never experienced before.

It's a new concept in entertainment. It's an indoor/outdoor facility – an outdoor amphitheater that seats 5,500 people similarly to First Niagara and also an indoor performance hall as well, according Scott Stiendecker of PromoWest Productions.

Pat Lucas with the production company says the outdoor amphitheater is designed to take in the view of Mt Washington and Heinz Field when the concerts move outdoors, but for now, the opening shows will play the indoor hall beginning with Girl Talk.

The indoor area – all general admission – has an average ticket price just under $50. Refreshments, including beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages are available for sale inside the facility which is also where the bathrooms are located.

The new Stage AE will also be equipped with flat screen TV's throughout and will be open, including the bars, before and after Pittsburgh Steelers home games, beginning with the next one on Dec. 12.
