Accused Flasher To Undergo Mental Evaluation
A man who is accused of flashing several Westmoreland County teenagers as they walked home from school last month will undergo a mental evaluation.
Police say David Perkins told officers that he was high on a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol when he exposed himself to girls in both Hempfield and Jeannette.
Today Perkins appeared in court to face the allegations; but his preliminary hearing was postponed so he can undergo a mental examination.
"The case involves mental health issues and some drug and alcohol issues," Defense Attorney Tim Dawson told KDKA. "We want to get him properly evaluated so that we can facilitate a plea bargain if that's the route to go."
No new date has been set for the hearing.
