TAMPA, Fla. (KDKA/AP) — Joe Paterno and the Penn State Nittany Lions have accepted a bid to play the Florida Gators in the Outback Bowl.

The Outback Bowl will be on New Year’s Day at Raymond James Stadium with kickoff at 1 p.m.

Both teams will be making their fourth appearance at the Outback Bowl.

The Gators last appearance at the Outback Bowl was in 2006 against Iowa, and the Nittany Lions last appearance at the Outback Bowl was in 2007 against Tennessee.

The Gators will be playing in a bowl game for the 20th consecutive season.
