KENNEDY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A local tailor is facing criminal charges after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with two female customers.

Anthony Tornatore, 70, who owns Tornatore’s Custom Tailors in Kennedy Township, is facing five counts of indecent assault and one count of simple assault.

The alleged victims are two female customers, ages 51 and 29. Police say when they came into his store for alterations, they say he touched them.

“In each of these cases, the women were customers of the tailor shop and during the course of fitting the victims, Anthony Tornatore, the owner and tailor, would grope the women,” Lieutenant Jeff Korczyk said.

According to police, one of the victim’s 4-year-old children witnessed the assault.

He was involved in a similar incident in 2008. In that case, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Another woman claims he tried to kiss her during a fitting.

Police believe Tornatore is still in the area, but he is not yet in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to call either the Allegheny County Police or the Kennedy Township Police.
