PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Brian Engblom, Versus hockey analyst, joined the Fan Morning Show Wednesday to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins.
He says that he is at a loss for words with the way Sidney Crosby is currently playing. Crosby is driven to be the best hockey player, and he is not only showing that with his play, but he is also making his teammates better, Engblom said.
He says another key reason the Penguins are doing so well is because of the play from their defensemen, citing the off-season additions of Paul Martin and Zbynek Michalek.
He says says that Kris Letang has become a good “puck possession” player, which is key for the transition from defense to offense.
Also, the difference in Marc-Andre Fleury from the beginning of the year to the current win streak has been his refocusing on technique, said Engblom.
