Some Brave Cold To Get To School

MOUNT LEBANON (KDKA) - The frigid temperatures resulted in school delays and closings across the area Tuesday, but there were some people who dared to brave the cold.

Parent Monica Brown didn't think it was too cold to wait for the school bus this morning.

"When I was going to school there were no delays," she said.

She told her daughter, a second grader who thought it was too cold for school, that she would get use to it.

With below zero wind chills hundreds of schools were on a two-hour delay Tuesday morning.

Adwaid Pradhal walked his son to Lincoln Elementary in Mt. Lebanon even though he usually drives. He said he wanted to enjoy the crisp air and the sunshine.

Lori Stanek drove her daughter, Chloe, to the 10 a.m. start at Lincoln Elementary, but she said she expected school to be canceled completely.

Meanwhile, Sean Arnott walked his daughter in the frigid temperatures, but only did so because she didn't want to miss the day at school.
