PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – This is a relatively quiet week in Pitt Panther athletics with only two teams in action.

The No. 8 ranked men’s basketball team will host Maryland Eastern Shore this Saturday, Dec. 18th at the Petersen Events Center. The game will start at 7 p.m. and can be heard on 93-7 The Fan.

Jamie Dixon needs two more wins to reach 200 in his career as a head coach.

Dixon was hired by Pitt in 2003. Since then, he has tied the NCAA record for most wins after seven seasons as a head coach with 188.

The other team in action is the Pitt women’s basketball team. They will head to Las Vegas for the Hoops Classic on Sunday and Monday. In the two day event, Pitt will face Texas Tech and UT-Arlington. Both games will start at 3 p.m.

Senior guard Taneisha Harrison became the 16th member in women’s Pitt basketball to score 1,000 points in her career.
