Police: Drunk Driver Hit Trooper’s Car

WHITE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — An Indiana County man is facing charges after he allegedly slammed into the back of a state police cruiser while “highly intoxicated”; and state police say the suspect had two young children in the car with him at the time.

Police arrested Daniel Nickerson, 38, of Penn Run last night after the incident on Rose Street in White Township.

According to authorities, Trooper Benjamin Frantz was returning to his vehicle after a traffic stop shortly before 7 p.m. when Nickerson drove into the police car.

A short struggle ensued before Trooper Frantz managed to take Nickerson into custody.

The trooper then discovered two young boys, ages 5 and 2, were in Nickerson’s car.

Nickerson is now facing charges including DUI and endangering the welfare of children.

Wow, I see that you can sure spell properly while baked. Perhaps you should do neither before driving. Did you ever think of that while in your baked state? Thanks for doing your part in making this world a better place.

I’m a very responsible drunk driver. I drive 5mph under the speed limit, turn the music off, and focus on nothing but the road. I hate these kind of drunk drivers that ruin it for everyone. Everyone should take their time drunk behind the wheel instead of speeding home then wrecking. I’ve been a responsible drunk drive for over 40 years and never had a problem. If your going to drive drunk, drive drunk responsibly…

Thank you. I believe Mothers are against the wrong cause. They should be against drunk speeding, and not drunk driving in general. Thank you for seeing the right point of view!
