Josh Miller Previews Jets vs. Steelers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Fan's NFL analyst, former Steelers punter Josh Miller joined the Fan Morning Show to preview Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Miller said the possibility of Troy Polamalu and Heath Miller not playing this weekend won't be the difference between a win and a loss. Rather, he thinks a bigger factor will be whether or not Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez gets his game together. Sanchez has been having some problems lately and Miller says he doesn't think this will be the week the quarterback turns it around.

While Miller does not expect the match to be a big offensive game, he says he does think the Steelers will run the ball and pass in the direction of Darelle Revis.

"Lebeau will have a field day" with Sanchez and the Jets offense, says Miller. The Jets offense has been simplified for the second year quarterback.

Sanchez has a "5 mile stare" when throwing to his receivers, making it easier for the Steelers' secondary to anticipate passes from him, Miller adds.

Jets coach Rex Ryan is a controversial coach and Miller doesn't think he would be able to play for him. Miller wants a coach to be consistent when things are going good or bad; but he says Ryan tends to be more of a "buddy-buddy" coach with all his players.

He thinks the HBO show "Hard Knocks" was one of the worst things that could have happened to the Jets.

As for the Steelers' new kicker, Miller says he wants to see how Shaun Suisham bounces back after a big miss before he jumps on the bandwagon.
