Elderly Couple Dies In Indiana Co. House Fire

WHITE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - An elderly couple was killed Wednesday morning when their Indiana County home caught fire.

Lisle Jobe, 86, and his 82-year-old wife Norma lived in the home for more than 30 years. They had been married for more than 60 years.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming out of the building. The smoke could be seen all the way across town.

They found Norma Jobe in the doorway and neighbors told them Lisle was most likely still inside. Lisle died at the scene. Norma died at the hospital.

A state police fire marshal is investigating. He believes the fire began in the living room area but has not yet determined a cause.

Lisle Jobe was a veteran of the US Air Force and served in World War II. He and his wife had four children. They also had grandchildren.

The family says they are devastated by this loss, but are taking solace in the fact that their parents lived long and happy lives.
