Duquesne Loses In Double OT

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) — The Duquesne Dukes came up short 85-79 after forcing the George Mason Patriots to double overtime on Wednesday.

Duquesne was led by senior forward Bill Clark with 21 points and freshman guard T.J. McConnell with 19 points.

McConnell forced the first overtime with a layup with 17 seconds left to tie the score at 64.

In the first overtime, George Mason was leading by two with eight seconds left when sophomore Sean Johnson scored two of his seven points at the free throw line, forcing a second overtime.

The Patriots took charge in the second overtime, scoring 12 points from three players. Patriots' guard Isaiah Tate, who finished with 14 points, scored five points in the second overtime.

Ryan Pearson and Cam Long scored 17 points apiece for George Mason.

George Mason improved their record to 9-2, while the Dukes are now at .500 with a 5-5 record.
