2 Firefighters Injured While Responding To Fire

CHERRY TREE (KDKA) - Two volunteer firefighters were rushed to the hospital after wrecking their car on the way to a fire in Indiana County.

Michael and Crystal Keith were responding to a house fire on Rock Run Road in Montgomery Township Sunday evening when their car slammed into a pole on Front Street.

The husband and wife are both firefighters with the Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Department.

Michael had been with the department for nearly 10 years, and Crystal was a newer member.

The fire chief discovered the wreck on his way to the fire.

Michael Keith was flown to Conemaugh Medical Center. Crystal Keith was flown to Altoona Medical Center.

The fire department refused to comment.
