Gators Will Be Without 4 Starters Against PSU
TAMPA Fla. (KDKA/AP) - The Florida Gators will be without four starters when they play Penn State in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day.
Florida will be without cornerback Janoris Jenkins, right tackle Maurice Hurt and defensive tackles Lawrence Marsh and Terron Sanders.
Jenkins and Sanders are out due to right shoulder injuries, Hurt has a right knee injury and Marsh has a right hip injury. All four players underwent surgery and did not travel with the team to Tampa.
Jenkins, a junior, is considered the biggest loss. He has started all 11 games this season and has eight career interceptions, including three this season. Moses Jenkins or Cody Riggs will likely start in his place.
The New Year's Day game will be the final game for head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer notified the school a few weeks ago that he will be resigning after the bowl game, reportedly due to health concerns.
