Bettis To Drop Puck At Winter Classic

Pittsburgh (93-7 The FAN) - Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis joined the Fan Morning to talk about his upcoming event at the Hard Rock Cafe. Bettis will be hosting a viewing party for the Winter Classic sponsored by Pepsi Max.

Bettis said, this year's team is not the same team that went into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed to win Super Bowl XL. Sunday's game is critical for the Steelers to win in order for the team, especially Troy Polamalu and the offensive line, to get rest. This team will not get to the next level without at healthy running game.

Jerome also throws his vote on the pile for Maurkice Pouncey for team MVP. "He has been a stud all year round," Bettis said. He also tells us what goes on behind the scenes when the team votes for the MVP.

He said the coach never influences the players votes for MVP, but they do influence or veto who the team chooses as the captains.

Bettis also told Ron Cook and Jim Colony, to their surprise, that he will be dropping the ceremonial puck to open the Winter Classic at Heinz Field.
