Woman Hurt, Others Homeless After Townhouse Fire

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A woman continues to recover today after suffering serious burns when fire ripped through a townhouse Thursday evening in Washington County.

The fire broke out around 7 p.m. on Hunting Creek Road in North Strabane Township.

Officials say the blaze spread to two adjoining units. It caused some significant damage, but did not destroy the building.

"Crews arrived, heavy fire in the townhouse," said Chief Mark Grimm, of the North Strabane Fire Department. "The female… first and second degree burns with smoke inhalation. The fire is under investigation, it was extinguished rather quickly."

Authorities say six people were left homeless because of the fire.
