4 Penguins Named To All Star Team

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Tuesday proved to be a star-packed day for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Four players were selected to participate in the 2011 NHL All Star Game in Raleigh, N.C.

Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin and Marc-Andre Fleury were chosen through the NHL fan voting.

Crosby recently went on a 25-game point streak and is the league leader in goals (32) and points (65). He was the leading vote-getter with 635,509 total votes.

In addition to being named to the All Star Game, Crosby was named as the NHL's first star for the month of December. It's the second consecutive month Crosby was named as the league's top star.

Malkin finished third in voting among forwards with 376,887 votes.

Letang received the most votes among defensemen with 477,960. He was also the leader among write-in votes.

Fleury (17-9-2, 2.31 GAA, .918 save percentage) edged out Carey Price to lead all goaltenders with 462,305 votes.
