Foote, Steelers Prepare For The Bye Week

Jim Colony caught up with Pittsburgh Steelers' LB Larry Foote after practice earlier in the week. Foote knew coming back with the team intact, that they would be involved with a playoff run year after year.

He is excited about the playoffs, where this team is right now and how they overcame so many obstacles this season to get the number two seed.

Foote explains why it is a key to have defensive end Aaron Smith on the field for the playoff run. He also said the organization has to take credit for their ability to have backups that can fill in for Smith and Brett Keisel, who have missed a significant part of the season.

Foote, a former Michigan Wolverine, has some thoughts on the firing of Rich Rodriguez. He said it was just bad timing. He thinks, like many others, that Rich Rod would be a great fit for the Pitt Panthers.
