PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – NFL analyst Josh Miller called into the FAN Morning Show to share details on how the teams handle a bye week while not knowing your next opponent.
Miller said the players will watch the games and use that as extra film work. They will also get back to the basics of football, and then when they know who the opponent is, it will become a regular week again.
He thinks the best match up for the Steelers would be the Indianapolis Colts. Miller doesn’t think QB Peyton Manning could overcome the weather at Heinz Field to beat a healthy Steelers’ defense.
The one team Miller does not want to see in the divisional round are the Baltimore Ravens because of the physicality they would bring.
He said the best team to go into New England with a chance to beat the Patriots are the Kansas City Chiefs. With former Patriots Charlie Weis, Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel on the Chiefs, that gives them the best opportunity to be the Patriots in New England.
If the Steelers do go into New England for the AFC Championship, Miller likes the chances for the Steelers. He thinks the Steelers are playing their best football of the season.
