Accidents Tie Up Traffic On Parkway West

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Traffic was tied up on the Parkway West Sunday afternoon after an accident caused a chain reaction crash.

A minor accident first slowed traffic, and then caused a second crash near the Greentree exit on the Parkway West.

Officials say five cars in total were involved and three people were taken to the hospital.

Crews were able to clear the scene and traffic is once again moving tonight.

There is no word at this time on the conditions of the people who were hospitalized.

What about the ambulance that was involved in an accident while transporting one of the patients from the accident? Some person felt the need not to yield to the ambulance with its lights and sirens going and what happens…they need to now go to the hospital along with the crew of the ambulance.

Random citizen … the ambulance wasn’t going to the hospital. They were going to the accidents on the Parkway. MRSTA was requesting multiple units for the multiple accidents. The crew attendants were transported to the hospital.
