Copper Wire, Equipment Taken From Seven Springs

SEVEN SPRINGS (KDKA) - State police are investigating after thousands of dollars worth of copper wire and other equipment were taken from Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset County.

Investigators say the resort's maintenance complex was burglarized Saturday between 1:50 a.m. and 6:50 a.m.

According to state police, more than 27,000 feet of copper wire, a chain saw, bolt cutters and about 420 copper fittings were taken from the facility.

Officials estimate the total value of the stolen items to be more than $25,400.

Authorities say the suspects got away in a 1995 Chevy truck, which also belonged to Seven Springs.

However, the vehicle was later found along a road in Donegal Township in Westmoreland County.

Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact state police in Somerset County at 814-445-4104.
