Merril Hoge Previews Steelers-Ravens Game

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Former Steeler RB and ESPN NFL analyst Merril Hoge joined the Fan Morning Show to preview the Steelers-Ravens match-up on Saturday.

Hoge says he thinks Saturday's game will be like any other, but he says the "Steelers are much better, especially offensively," compared to the last time they played at Baltimore in Week 13.

He thinks the Steelers missed a lot of opportunities and left a lot of yards on the field in Baltimore. Also, Hoge says he believes RB Rashard Mendenhall has learned to hit the hole instead of going to the outside, and Ben Roethlisberger will be in rhythm as he missed a lot of wide open receivers.

In the Ravens game against Kansas City last week, tight end Todd Heap was a big factor for Baltimore. Hoge thinks Heap will have to play much better if he wants to be effective against the Steelers because their linebackers and safeties are much better than the Chiefs.

"The Steelers offensive line, which has been their weakest link this season, has really come together," Hoge said.

According to Hoge, if the offensive line can take care of Roethlisberger and block Terrell Suggs, then the Steelers should be fine.
