CORAOPOLIS (KDKA/AP) — Robert Morris sophomore guard Karon Abraham has waived his right to a preliminary hearing on drunken driving and other charges.
Authorities say Abraham told police he had been drinking vodka before he drove to a fast-food restaurant, where he crashed a borrowed car into a parked vehicle back in November.
He has been charged with first-offense drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 or above.
Abraham, 19, has pleaded not guilty and no trial date has been set.
The team suspended him for four games this season.
Abraham leads the Colonials in points per game with 16.4 points. He is also 2.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
