Hill District Shooting Kills 1, Injures 1
HILL DISTRICT (KDKA) - One person was killed and another was injured in an early Sunday morning shooting in the Hill District.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a man and woman were shot in the 200-block of Lombard Street around 2:15 a.m.
Ronald Washington, 25, was fatally wounded and was pronounced dead at UPMC Mercy Hospital shortly before 6 a.m.
The woman has been identified as 20-year-old Chanel Hopkins. She was shot in both thighs and her left wrist, but is expected to survive.
The two victims were in the back of a car that stopped to talk to two black males. For reasons unknown, one of the males pulled out a gun and began shooting at the vehicle.
The driver fled the scene and drove to the hospital.
