PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – FSN hockey analyst Jay Caufield joined the FAN Morning Show to recap the Penguins win over the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night.
According to Caufield, the time the Penguins are playing without captain Sidney Crosby is a learning experience. Some players will learn to step, and when Crosby comes back, the team will be that much better.
If Marc-Andre Fleury continues his strong play, and the defense and penalty killing rise to the occasion, Caufield thinks the Penguins can go “all the way.”
Crosby has been out since the beginning of January with concussion symptoms from hits to the head. Crosby didn’t have a timetable for his return when he spoke to the media.
Caufield said the team needs to be very cautious with Crosby, and there is no need to rush him back with the All-Star break around the corner.
