PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Steelers beat reporter Jon Burton caught up with defensive end Aaron Smith after practice this week.

Smith is determined to work his way back onto the field this postseason, but is taking it day-by-day.

The FAN’s Jim Colony caught up with Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to talk about his feelings heading into the AFC Championship game.

Sanders said coach Mike Tomlin wants the players to go about the week as “business as usual” and prepare as they would for any other game.

The rookie told Colony that he had a feeling the Steelers could go all the way when they had their rookie meetings at the beginning of the season.

Rookie wide receiver Antonio Brown spoke with Burton after practice about his clutch play against the Ravens during the divisional playoff game.

Brown said he and the other rookies on the Steelers wanted to “make a statement to the veterans,” and help take the team to the Super Bowl.

i believe that coach tomlin will keep them in the right frame of mine to play rex and the jets. i am an avid steeler fan and have been one for years. ben dont get the respect as the other quarterbacks in the league. i dont know what he has to do in order to get the respect as one of the best. the steelers will win this game. ben is of the seed of abraham, the boy is blessed. he will win his third super bowl this year 2011. and he wil win two more before he retires. dr. emmitt patterson
