Bills Hire Dave Wannstedt

By Mike Vukovcan

PITTSBURGH (KDKA-TV) — It didn’t take long for former Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt to land a new job.

Wannstedt is headed back to the NFL.

The Buffalo Bills have hired Wannstedt as their new assistant head coach and linebackers

Wannstedt came to Pitt after spending time in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.

Wannstedt will now be reunited with several of his former staff members from Miami, including Bills head coach Chan Gailey. Gailey was Wannstedt’s offensive coordinator
in 2000 and 2001 before leaving to become head coach at Georgia Tech.

This hiring comes a day after Wannstedt interviewed for the defensive coordinator’s job with the Cleveland Browns.

Um, he’s assistant head coach also. That’s actually a pretty good title. Big Bird, you would actually be the loser, since you are not a NFL coach making whatever money Wanny is making.
