SCOTT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Officials with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office say they have captured a wanted violator of Megan’s Law.

They say officials had been looking for 34-year-old Scott Kochis, formerly of Highland Park, since learning he registered as a sex offender under a false address.

According to authorities, Kochis was arrested in April of 2009 and charged with indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age. Last September, officials say he pleaded guilty to the charge and was placed on probation/parole.

However, investigators say when Kochis registered as a sex offender the address he gave was for a residence his parents had previously moved from nine months earlier.

A second warrant was issued for his arrest last week on the charge of failure to comply with registration of sexual offender requirements.

On Thursday evening, sheriff’s deputies found Kochis at a home on Carothers Avenue in Scott Township hiding behind a pile of laundry.

Authorities say a woman at the home was also arrested.

Officials report that her three children were also there. Investigators say that deputies had information that she had knowledge of Kochis’s requirement to register as a sex offender.

She is now facing charges of endangering the welfare of children.
