Fans Gear Up For Super Bowl At NFL Experience

DALLAS, Texas (KDKA) – Deep in the heart of Texas, more specifically in Dallas, it was all about visiting the NFL Experience this weekend for football fans.

With one week until the big game, there were thousands taking in the exhibit on Sunday, including Steelers fans in mass.

“We grew up in the South Hills. I grew up in Baldwin and West Mifflin, and Terri grew up in South Park,” said Westlake, Texas resident Scott Miller about where he and his wife hail from. “We love Big Ben, Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu and Heath Miller.”

The Millers were actually a bit of an exception though from the rest of the crowd of black and gold fans.

While yes, there were a lot of Steelers fans, many have never spent one day near the Monongahela, Ohio or Allegheny rivers.

So, how does one become a Steelers fan without ever being in Pittsburgh?

“Crazy story; my brother likes the Cowboys, I didn’t like my brother growing up, and so I was the Steelers cause that was the two teams that kept fighting back and forth,” said Chase Thoung, of Dallas.

Meanwhile, any time you get Steelers fans together, especially for big games, they talk about how great the Steelers are.

Success breeds that kind of talk; but while they don’t fear the Cheeseheads, they certainly – when it comes to this go round – respect them.

“It’s going to be tough,” added Thoung. “I felt good about them against the Cardinals, but against the Packers, I’m not so sure. It’s going to be a tough one.”

I live in Belleville, NJ! I have been a Steeler fan for around 29 of my 36 yrs. I live in giants/ jet territory! My day huge Giants fan! Out of 4 kids I wasnthe divorce era child. My mom’s boyfriend did nothing but talk about the Steelers because he grew up in Lebanon, PA. He taught me the history from the beginning when the Steelers could not win a game! Their whole history! The cheif! Myron Cope and the terrible towel! Their 4 Superbowls and the Steeler greats! I began to watch the Steelers and the rest is history! I love this team and the fans I meet everywhere I go and even on the internet! I respect greenbay and their fans. They r die hards just like me. It is going to be one hell of a match up and I hope we get number seven! GO STEELERS! GO DEFENSE!

I’m originally from Pittsburgh, but have lived in Nashville for the last eleven years. You would not believe the amount of Steelers fans in this city. There are four steelers bars that I frequent during the season, and those placed are PACKED! on game day. And I’ve been told of a few more in the area including a Buffalo Wildwings that has been taken over by Steelers fans. I was at the Steelers/Titans game earlier in this season, and I was almost hard to tell who’s home stadium it was with all the steelers fans and terrible towels twirling. Unbelievable. Say what they want, the cowboys have fallen from their perch. The Steelers are without doubt, America’s team. Steeler Nation rise.
