PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ed Bouchette joins The FAN Morning Show to recap Super Bowl XLV.

Bouchette didn’t have much confidence that the Steelers would be able to drive the length of the field to score in the final two minutes, because they have tapped that well too many times lately.

After the game, Ben Roethlisberger took the blame for the loss, but Bouchette doesn’t totally agree.

Bouchette thinks he does share some of the blame, but blame should also be placed on the defense, Ben’s blockers and Mike Wallace.

Bouchette said the defense “didn’t play poorly,” but they were “behind the eight-ball early.” He also said the defensive penalties at key times is what killed them.

In previewing the offseason, Bouchette predicts that outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley and cornerback Ike Taylor are the greatest free-agent flight risks.

He doesn’t know if they will leave, but he expects the Steelers to make every attempt to sign the players before the current CBA expires.

    Eddy your reporting sucks

Like so many others I am disappointed in the loss. And I will state the obvious: You CAN’T turn over the ball 3 times (which turned into 3 TD’s and 21 points!) and expect any other outcome.

Ben made some mistakes; Mendenhall’s fumble was HUGE; and the D gave up big plays down the field when it could least afford it. The team MUST get better pass coverage if they plan on getting back to (and winning) another Super Bowl.

Take your hats off to the Packers… they were the better team and deserved to win the game. The Steelers weren’t – and did not.

Whole team deserves blame in loss not 1 guy

You don’t blame anyone. blame is not what its about. Don’t point fingers, learn from mistakes and move on.

The Steelers had the best team last night
But the Packers had the best Quarterback last night
    End of story

ki432b ~ The best team? Are you kidding me? Where was the “great” Steeler defense?

      Harrison = no show

      Polamalwho?

Not to mention the non existent pass coverage!

      The best team won!
