MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA/AP) – Robert Morris dominated the boards and took advantage of free throws to beat St. Francis (Pa.) 78-68 on Wednesday.

The Colonials grabbed 39 total rebounds including 14 offensive compared to 19 total and five offensive from St. Francis.

The Red Flash (7-17, 5-8) committed 26 personal fouls, which led to 33 free throws for the Colonials. Robert Morris made 25 of the 33 free throws.

The Colonials (11-13, 7-6) were led by Karon Abraham with 20 points. Velton Jones and Lijah Thompson added 16 points for Robert Morris.

St. Francis’ Umar Shannon had 23 points and Will Felder scored 16 to lead the Red Flash.

With 9:35 left in the second half, the Red Flash rallied from 11 points down to come within one point before the Colonials answered with 13 straight points to lead 71-59.

The two teams will play again in a rematch this Saturday at St. Francis.
