Former Pittsburgh Mayor Sophie Masloff Taken To Hospital
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Former Pittsburgh Mayor Sophie Masloff was taken to the hospital Friday evening.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Masloff, 93, was admitted to UPMC Shadyside with pneumonia.
According to her spokesperson, she is alert and resting comfortably and is expected to be released in the coming days.
She is currently being treated with antibiotics.
Masloff served as mayor from 1988 to 1994. She was the city's first Jewish and female mayor.
