PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – New York Islanders center Zenon Konopka spoke to the media about regarding Mario Lemieux’s statement about the Islanders/Penguins fight.

Konopka said he is going to “take down the poster” off his bedroom door of Mario and “can’t believe he is that far removed from the game.”

He said the Islanders are doing everything they can to keep their best guys on the ice, and they’re tired of opponents “taking shots” at them.

Konopka said if Max Talbot would have fought Blake Comeau at the CONSOL Energy Center “it would have been squashed right there.”
