“Hoops” Weiss Breaks Down Pitt, St. John’s, and The Big East

Legendary New York Daily News college basketball writer Dick “Hoops” Weiss joined Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan, and he thinks Pitt is playing like one of the two best teams in the country right now. He tells us why Jamie Dixon has the Panthers playing as well as they are, and how far he thinks they can go. Hoops also tells us why St. John’s is so tough at the Garden, and what he makes of the Big East so far this year.

Give Props to St. John!!! Pitt missed too many free throws and beat themselves. St. John’s at home is lethal and a quality team like Pitt knows that they can not allow missed Free Throws to lose a game and today they did. FT in the first half are just as critical as the second half and the fact the morons calling the game never mentioned that stat really takes the whole perspective away from the loss as opposed to the focus on St. John’s win. Pitt lost and St. John’s jumped on the opportunity and that is great coaching by Lavin. Lavin said sixty minutes is needed and that is what his team did, do not care about refs they are not a factor you can control free throws are and Pitt will gain valuable experience from this teachable moment.

    HAIL PITT!!!!!!!
