Gibbs ‘Really Excited’ To Get Back On Court

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Jon Burton caught up with Pitt Panthers guard Ashton Gibbs to talk about his return to the court.

Gibbs is “really excited” to get back on the court, but learned a lot watching his team play while sitting on the bench. He said he is not going to change his game, but will add new aspects to it.

Gibbs knew his team would not “miss a beat” with him out of the lineup and talked about the role Travon Woodall played during those three games.

Gibbs addressed the comments from critics that his team is not a Final Four team because there are no future NBA superstar players on the team.

Despite the criticism, Gibbs and his teammates stay mentally tough knowing they can be national champions.

  1. Paul Carter says:

After watching the St. Johns game Pitt is NOT a championship team. If it wasn’t for Gibbs, they would have been blown out. The defense in the final seconds was soft and I would have rather that they foul someone and let them beat themn on the foul line instead of letting someone drive on them with seconds left. They’ll be lucky to get out of the second round of the NCAA Tourney. The rest of the team picked a bad time to go belly up.
