Gilbert Brown joined Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the team’s season so far and their expectations going forward.
Gilbert said Saturday’s loss to St. John’s was tough, but it’s a learning experience and they’ll bounce back from it. The final bucket in that game against St. John’s has turned into a bit of a controversy as it looked like St. John’s guard Dwight Hardy stepped out-of-bounds before getting his shot off, and Gilbert told us how that play went down and whether or not he thought Hardy stepped out-of-bounds.
Gilbert admitted though that the final bucket didn’t decide the game and they should have put it out of reach earlier so that St. John’s didn’t even have the opportunity to win it.
When it comes to Pitt’s Final Four potential this year, Gilbert compared this team to all the others he has played on and says this team has the best opportunity to get over the hump and reach the Final Four.
Finally, with Ashton Gibbs back in the lineup, Gilbert said it does take a little bit of time to get used to having a player back after missing a few games, but they’re not using that as an excuse and they’re capable of making the adjustment quickly and getting back on track.
