Bylsma Offers Updates On Injured Penguins

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma spoke to the media after Tuesday's practice and gave an update on his long list of injured players.

Bylsma said defenseman Paul Martin will miss his second game with an upper-body injury when the Pens host the San Jose Sharks Wednesday night. Martin was hurt when he was hit from behind into the boards in a 3-2 shootout loss at Chicago on Sunday.

Forward Chris Kunitz, who has missed seven games with a lower-body injury, has still not been cleared for practice. Kunitz has been participated in on-ice drills prior to the team's practices and appears to be the closest to returning.

Forwards Mark Letestu and Dustin Jeffrey are both listed as having lower-body injuries and have been cleared for practice. Letestu and Jeffrey could resume playing in a few days, Bylsma said.

James Neal and Matt Niskanen are expected to make their Penguins debut against the Sharks. They were acquired in a trade with the Dallas Stars for Alex Goligoski on Monday.

The Penguins will open a five-game road trip on Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
