Robert Morris Beats Mount St. Mary's, 65-57

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - Robert Morris was able to pull away late in the game from Mount St. Mary's to win 65-57 on Thursday night.

The Colonials (15-13, 11-6) went on a run to put them ahead 49-38 with 8:38 remaining. But the Mountaineers fought back and cut the Colonials lead to just three points, 56-53, with just 2:24 remaining.

That would be the closest Mount St. Mary's would get as the Colonials hit a field goal and seven of eight free throws the rest of the way to seal it.

Velton Jones led the Colonials with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Lijah Thompson and Russell Johnson added 10 points each for Robert Morris. Johnson also pulled down nine rebounds.

Robert Morris finishes their season this Saturday with a home game against Wagner Seahawks, tip-off is scheduled at 7 p.m.
