Ohio State Beats Penn State, 82-61
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - Ohio State's Jon Diebler scored a career high of 30 points on Tuesday night as No. 1 Ohio State beat Penn State 82-61 to clinch at least a share of the Big Ten title.
Diebler scored all of his 30 points from behind the three-point line and OSU built a 15-point lead at the end of the first half.
Ohio State can claim the conference title outright with a win over No. 10 Wisconsin on Sunday.
Penn State senior Talor Battle scored 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in his final regular-season home game for Penn State (15-13, 8-9).
David Jackson had 12 points, while Andrew Jones added 10 for Penn State.
With the loss, the Nittany Lions hurt their chances to receive a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Tuesday's game drew 15,403 fans, the sixth-largest crowd in the 15-year history of the Jordan Center and a record student turnout of more than 6,000.
