PITTSBURGH (NEWSRADIO 1020 KDKA) — A six-month Sports Illustrated/CBS News investigation into student athletes has revealed that many schools do not perform criminal background checks.

According to the investigation, Pitt is number one for the most arrested athletes, and Penn State ties for third.

KDKA’s Larry and John talked to college football scout and Pittsburgh Steelers great John Banazak for his opinion, as well as Sports Illustrated managing editor BJ Schecter who co-wrote and researched the story for Sports Illustrated/CBS News.
