Duquesne Holds Off St. Bonaventure 70-64

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - B.J. Monteiro and Sean Johnson led the Duquesne Dukes in their 70-64 win over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.

Monteiro scored 19 points and had five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Johnson added 19 points, three assists and one rebound.

The two players combined for 15 of 26 from the floor, while their teammates combined to shoot 14 for 36.

T.J. McConnell added 12 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and five steals for the Dukes (18-10, 10-5 Atlantic 10 Conference), who scored 26 points off 23 turnovers including 10 steals.

Duquesne led 63-62 with 1:24 left, but 3-points from Johnson and a lay-up from McConnell pushed its lead to 68-62 with 22 seconds on the clock.

The Dukes shot just 4 for 22 from 3-point range (18.2 percent), but outscored St. Bonaventure 40-22 in the paint.

Duquesne finishes their regular season on Saturday against the Richmond Spiders with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
