Man Accused Of Sexual Assault Wants To Withdraw Plea

SCOTTDALE (KDKA) -- A man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting four teenage girls wants to withdraw his plea and go to trial.

Jeffrey Weimer, 41, plead guilty back in 2008 in exchange for a sentence of 17 to 40 years.

He wants to withdraw the plea, claiming he did not understand the terms of the plea agreement.

His former attorney testified that she has no doubt he understood the plea agreement, a sentiment echoed by his former cellmate, Richard Powell.

"He went into detail [about] all four of his victims – details that he's done to these girls over the years, that he partied with them in the Scottdale area," Powell said. "It was pretty sick. And then I went to telephone, call the detectives and they came down and interviewed me."

If the judge grants the motion, Weimer will go to trial. If the judge does not grant the motion, Weimer will be sentenced under the terms of the plea agreement.
