Aiken Previews Pitt-UConn Matchup

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Pitt men’s basketball broadcaster Curtis Aiken joined to the FAN Morning Show to preview the Panthers’ quarterfinal game against UConn.

Aiken said the Panthers match-up well against the Huskies and expects a close game for the first half. However, he believes the Panthers will pull away and win the game in the second half.

He gives a lot of credit to head coach Jamie Dixon for the success of this year’s team because he is able to make adjustments at half-time to beat the opponent.

Aiken thinks the Panthers are well suited to and have shown in the past to play against the up tempo offense of UConn. He expects Kemba Walker to get his chances to score, but Pitt won’t make it easy for him.

Aiken said Pitt has to win today to secure a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and remove any doubt for the selection committee.

Pitt looking good right now. I think this is finally a Pitt team balanced enough to make a deep run.

Not, another choke job! I like Dixon, but he was outcoached today. How can your team allow the best player to be matched up with your Center at crunch time? Not sure I follow that logic? You know who they are going too. Unreal, another dissappointment, same old same old. 32 or 16 are my expectations. Sinking at the wrong time. We do not have a 2 minute man, no one at the end we can go to. Be it on offense or defense. Nice team, nice players, but no stud. Say good bye to a 1 seed.
