PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Jim Colony caught up with Pitt Panthers head coach Jamie Dixon on Selection Sunday to get his reaction to Pitt receiving a No. 1 seed.
Dixon said he kind of felt the team was going to have a No. 1 seed after the “body of work” they built up over the course of the season.
Dixon told Colony, he was “happily” surprised to find out the team would be playing in Washington, D.C. for the first and second round rather than Chicago. He also didn’t expect Pitt to get the winner of one of the play-in games, but they will be watching video and preparing over the next three days.
After the loss to UConn in the Big East Tournament, Dixon said his team is not over-reacting and working on getting back to the basics and what this team has done to win 27 games this season.
