1 Dead, 1 Injured In Franklin Park Crash

FRANKLIN PARK (KDKA) - A car accident in Franklin Park left one man dead and one woman injured early Monday morning.

A police officer on Route 910 was doing paperwork in his vehicle when they spotted a silver Audi speeding shortly after midnight.

The officer called for backup to look for the vehicle on Wexford Run Road. The backup officer saw a cloud of dust before finding the vehicle in a creek bed.

"The other officer who came the opposite way on Wexford Run Road discovered the vehicle on a sharp bend, it's almost like a 90-degree bend on Wexford Run Road, and it was upside down in a creek bed," Franklin Park Police Chief Don Dorsch said.

A male occupant was ejected and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 37-year-old Bryan Viviani of Coraopolis.

A female occupant was found suspended in the vehicle by her seatbelt. She was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and her condition is unknown.

Viviani was driving on a suspended license at the time of the accident. Also, the vehicle belonged to a couple in Sewickley. Police are trying to determine how Viviani ended up behind the wheel of a vehicle that did not belong to him at this time.

Neighbors said these types of accidents will continue to happen despite the numerous warning signs leading up to the curve.

"It'll happen because I've seen it happen enough times," Ray Kirstein said.
