Holik Suggests A Healthy Scratch For Cooke

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Former NHL player and current NHL Live contributor Bobby Holik, joined the FAN Morning Show to talk about the hit Matt Cooke landed on New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.

Holik said this situation is disturbing because it is becoming more about Cooke than him contributing to the team. Holik is more interested in how the Penguins' organization is going to deal with Cooke moving forward, especially when Ray Shero and Mario Lemieux are on the forefront to ban head shots in the NHL.

Holik suggested a different approach to deal with Cooke if he can't be traded. He said a "healthy scratch" is more of an embarrassment to a player than a suspension or fine.

Holik thinks the most important thing for the Penguins to do as they prepare for the playoffs is to just get healthy, because once the playoffs begin all teams are equal.
