Pitt AD Pederson: “We’re Gonna Get To A Final Four”

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson visited with SportsRadio 93-7 The Fan’s Vinnie & Cook, and he is proud of Pitt men’s basketball’s season despite the disappointing loss to Butler.

Steve has full confidence that Jamie Dixon is the man to take men’s hoops to the Final Four, but he tells us if the program may need to change its recruiting philosophy to truly get over the hump.

Steve is also impressed with what new football head coach Todd Graham has done so far.

Maybe the mind set of “we’re gonna get to a final four” is the problem. What about thinking you can win the NCAA Championship! Are they happy being the 1st, 2nd or 3rd loser? Must be.

Change recruiting philosophy? You mean blue chip? I’ll blieve it when I see it. The last parade all american is a bust! Good luck with him in the post position.

  3. Mr.Jones says:

Yes , and by “final four” he means Dixon,Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy.I BELIEVE !!! You know maybe the Pirates will break .500 this year as well.Totally agree with the blue chip comment and a whole bunch of them just scratched Pitt off of the list.Different faces, same story.Who’s to blame…..you make the call.
