Vuk's Local Sports Wrap (3-29)

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Scanning the internet and twitter, here are local sports notes that might interest you.

I'll keep this updated thru the day as much as possible.

*The Steelers need to get younger on the defensive line and could use the draft to do just that. Auburn DT Zach Clayton is scheduled to visit the Steelers on April 7th.

*Today, Mike Tomlin made a visit to Austin, Texas. He was one of just 2 NFL coaches at Texas' Pro Day. My guess is that he was scouting CB's Aaron Williams and Chykie Brown.

*ESPN's Rob Neyer was on 93.7 "The Fan" today and predicted that the Pirates will win 71 games. I'll go under that prediction.

*How good has Pens goalie Marc-Andre Fleury been? Since November 12th here's what he's done: Record 32-15-5, Goals Against- 2.09, Save Pct- .928%, Has allowed 2 goals or less in 32 of 49 games.

*The Flyers haven't scored more than 3 goals in a game in last 7 vs. Penguins. Have scored just 13 total goals in those 7 games.

*WVU head coach Bob Huggins announced today that sophomore Dan Jennings will transfer to another school. The 6-8 forward from Staten Island, NY played in 14 games this past season. He averaged 2.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

*Some Pitt players will be in Houston this weekend at the Final Four. Brad Wanamaker and Gary McGhee were selected to play in the Reese's College All-Star game on Friday. Senior Gilbert Brown will compete in the Final Four dunk contest on Thursday.
